At last night’s Membership Meeting we said thank you to Brother Ken Jakobsson, as he will be retiring from his position as Head Instructor of our Heat and Frost program.
Brother Jakobsson started teaching under Pablo Bleiker, and has been our Instructor for about 20 years. Over the years he has built on Pablo’s curriculum by slowly adapting International standards into it and harmonizing the syllabus across North America, creating several manuals for insulation apprenticeship training that are used throughout the industry. Most recently he secured funding for an upcoming new course, and participated in the harmonization of our program through the ITA.
He also won the prestigious W.F. Pablo Bleiker Award in 2017, which is given to those who show outstanding dedication and support for our industry and training programs.
We’re sad to see you go, but we wish you the best in your retirement from this position.
