Sister Ashley Duncan, Brothers Lee Loftus, Garrett Gronick and Neil Munro were proud to represent Local 118 at the BC Building Trades Convention in Victoria. This was the first Convention in memory that was opened by a sitting Premier as Premier John Horgan was on hand to welcome the delegates.
A number of resolutions were passed including resolutions around the Underground Economy, Compulsory Trade Certification, Asbestos Awareness Training, and Temporary Foreign Workers.
Brother Lee Loftus stepped down as the President of the Building Trades and Brother Dave Holmes was acclaimed as the new President. Local 118 looks forward to working with the Brother Holmes.
Sister Duncan, who is part of the Women in Trades delegation was part of an interesting presentation outlining what that group has achieved in the past year.
