The BC Insulators Union is warning potential customers about Tim Locke, an insulation contractor who has been ordered by the Supreme Court of BC to wind down his business – Locke Insulation Systems – and not start another over repeated non-payment of wages, benefits, union dues and other costs to employees.

The ad above will be placed in key publications by the BC Insulators to ensure the Court order is publicized.

BC Insulators Union Business Manager Lee Loftus was interviewed by the Vancouver Sun newspaper in January 2015 after the Court decision, saying that: “It has been a significant struggle.  It’s evidence of how unregulated the construction sector is.”

“This is a wake-up call for any other fly-by-night business in the insulation sector or any other that abusing your workers and their union will result in serious penalties and losing your business – not to mention your reputation,” Loftus says.
