The BC Insulators are proud to support the Special Olympics Canada 2014 Summer Games in Vancouver from July 8 to 12 by participating in the Draft An Athlete program.
Our athlete is Alexandra Magee, who participates in the Rhythmic Gymnastics competition.
Alexandra lives in Surrey and joined the Special Olympics in 1999, starting with swimming and then figure skating. Alexandra has attended three other National Games. Her goal for these Games is to stay calm and relaxed, have fun, and compete at her best level.
“Thanks to Special Olympics, I have a large circle of friends across Canada,” Alexandra says. “I learned to be disciplined and to work hard in order to succeed. I have accomplished a lot and it gave me lots of confidence”.
