The daughters and sons of BC Insulators Union Local 118 members are eligible for a $1,000 bursary for higher education in British Columbia.
The Robert J. Watson National Bursary Program will award two $1,000 bursaries in BC to “the children of union members whose local union has within its jurisdiction a General Presidents’ Maintenance Agreement or a National Maintenance Agreement, and who are attending a post-secondary academic institution on a full-time basis for the 2014-2015 Academic Year.”
That qualifies the children of BC Insulators members.
The application period opens September 15, 2014 and closes November 21, 2014.
You must apply online directly. Rules and regulations can be found at the Robert J. Watson National Bursary Program website.
“It is named after Bob Watson, who was a United Association International Representative and the long-time Canadian Chairman of the GPMC/NMC. Bob was instrumental in the development of the Building Trades Union contract maintenance industry.
It is through the hard work and dedication of Union Representatives like Bob that we are able to offer this Bursary to assist union families in the high cost of post-secondary education.”
Good luck to all applicants!
