Neil Munro, VP, and Ashley Duncan were proud to attend the BCCWITT (BC Center for Women in Trades Training) launch.
Ashley Duncan, who’s Secretary/Treasurer of Build TogetHER, and on the Governance Committee for the new center says “This is a monumental and rewarding day for all of us involved in the Build TogetHER program, and the construction industry. It has taken a small army of us, from a variety of building trades unions, working arm and arm to illustrate the value, and share the vision. This means there will be potential of an inclusive construction industry that will mentor, foster development of skills, and bridge the gap over the barriers which prevent women, and other minority groups, from thriving in the construction trades.
We’ve been the 4% too long, and I’m excited to see that number grow, and see those women flourish. I can’t wait to see what this new center will achieve, and I’m excited to begin this new chapter with a voice for all tradeswomen as we Build BC Together.”
